(guest) report by Jake Agar
The Thursday morning began with the usual shenanigans: Melvin proudly purchasing the world's smallest kite (surely a bad selling point!!) and the Otley contingent purchasing hair removal creams and wax strips. As punishment for his poor fielding the day before Broughy was given a Brazilian chest outside the hotel, much to the amusement of the lads.
The final game of the tour brought the tired looking side to play at Freckleton, new opponents organised by the still victory-less captain Rarty. The team 'warmed-up' by watching Ricky using hair removal cream to clean up his crack and a bemused looking Wes still trying to work out how best to sort out his messy rug. Team replacement involved Freckleton stalwart Frank coming in for the homeward bound Cocky. Toss was won by Rart. Highlights of the innings were Dale seeing the ball big for a top strike-rate, Rhodesy being talked out and Mel looking like death (the one and only time he shut up all week). The innings was interrupted by a heavy downpour. Thanks to Freckleton for putting the covers on (minus the pipes) meaning the wicket really spiced up. Rart opened up the bowling and bought himself a 5fer with guile and swing. Belly came on for a spell and was quickly brought off, leading to the former skip sulking for the remainder of the day. The tail wagged, but accurate bowling by Broughy ensured the Jesters edged a closer game than was necessary after Denny and Mel had served some 'help yourself' bowling. Also worth noting was that Ricky urinating on the field of play unsurprisingly got a disapproving talking to from the umpire and Mel giving Freckleton's batsmen a send off after Jake had snaffled one on the boundary edge...apparently Mel has got Boycott and all his brothers out. The fixture was quickly organised again for next year and the Jesters marched out into the night to celebrate the win and chase some skirt (unsuccessfully).
