PRESENT:- B.CARTER, J.COATES, S.SCOTT, D.BELL, N.WAITE, S.SULLIVAN, M.HODGES, G.DOBSON, J.HILL, M.HILL, A.GILL, R.BARKER (late). APOLOGIES:- D.STANIFORTH, S.GOWER, S.PRIESTLEY, M.HAINSWORTH. 1) Coco welcomes all-comers especially 1st timers Matt Hill & Aidey Gill to the back room of the Shoulder of Mutton, Northowram. Caggy is sure that Matt (Hodges) has been before!!!!! Coco points out the onerous (including 2 fs) tasks of the chairman. 2 girls collecting their coat's are mistaken for strippers by some members of the meeting. cold drinks all round!!! Peter Birbeck thanked for his sponsorship of a match ball (along with some A&WSCL skippers). It was also pointed out that Peter was seen buying his Saturday fish & chips lunch with a bag of golf balls!!! 2) All officials are re-appointed un-opposed due to the fact that all were still alive. 3) Accounts juggled & produced by Steve Scott:- OPENING CASH AT BANK £222.21 INCOME - subs : 19/6 sewerby £8.00 3/7 casuals £11.00 10/7 pool £11.00 17/7 newby £11.00 31/7 kirkheaton £11.00 7/8 colton £10.00 21/8 shepley £8.00 TOTAL £70.00 EXPENDITURE - meeting meals £23.6 fixture cards £25.00 scorers £30.00 TOTAL £78.60 LOSS ON SEASON £8.60 CLOSING CASH AT BANK £213.61 APPENDAGE- 2005 dinner broke even with £50 surplus on raffle donated to Jimmy Bastow fund. 4) Existing fixtures to be retained including trip to Sewerby (all available let me know). Hunslet Nelson to be earlier. No fixture to be arranged for August bank holiday. A possibility of a new fixture at Knaresborough Forest, skipper to advise Caggy. 5) Mentions of The west coast brought comments of "Los Angeles" from the members! Fleetwood & Norcross have not answered any correspondence so are ditched. Barrie has a contact at St Annes (Jester Andy Kellett) & Dobby said he could get a fixture at Thornton Cleavleys. Interest in the tour at the meeting was high (note if still same in July 2006) 6) Although under new management, Dragons at yeadon was selected for the 45th annual dinner; Scottie was going to try & book fri 7 April, if not available, the week before. It was stressed that we need to attract 35-40 Jesters to 'fill' the room. Scottie though annual prizes should be awarded at the dinner to encourage more to attend an example being to the Jesters slowest bowler!!!!! motion rejected.
It was noted that Eric Harrison disappointingly did not attend last years REUNION dinner because "they are all the same" 7) After breaking with tradition last year & not awarding a new tankard (Nigel Dickenson belatedly presented with his) it was decide that this year there are 2 worthy recipients; one from the present & one from the past:- It's hoped that both with turn up to the dinner to collect. Meeting closed - soup & sandwiches. |
