PRESENT:- B.CARTER, J.COATES, S.SCOTT, D.BELL, M.HODGES, A.GILL, R.BARKER, E.HARRISON, G.HARRISON, APOLOGIES:- S.PRIESTLEY, J.HILL, M,HILL, S.SULLIVAN, N.WAITE, G.DOBSON, S.DOBSON, D.WINTERBOTTOM, P.LINES, C.HARRISON, 1) Coco welcomes all to the back room of the Shoulder of Mutton, Northowram & then commented on how few games we played in 2006 (due to football world cup & the weather) & that he would have played in over half of them if not axed for the Jim Bastow memorial! which was a big success as well as the tour to Blackpool. 2) For the 1st time in living memory a change of a Jester official was required as the long serving president Ron 'alligator' Wells decided to step down in favour of a younger man. It was stated that you are supposed to be dead before vacating a Jester official post but Coco pointed out that rigor-mortis had indeed set in. The joyous Eric Harrison (who has sought the post for some time) was proposed & seconded & elected the 4th club president (rumours that the non present Carl Harrison had been sent to bump off Ron 'godfather' like are unfounded). Ron was thanked for his 20odd year tenor. All other officials re-elected un-opposed & still alive. 3) Accounts juggled & produced by Steve Scott:- OPENING CASH AT BANK £213.61 INCOME - Donation (G.Croudson) £15.00 - subs : Idle £8.00 Casuals £8.00 Rawdon £10.00 Knaresborough Forest £11.00 TOTAL £52.00 EXPENDITURE - Tankard £17.50 fixture cards £25.00 scorers £16.00 TOTAL £58.50 LOSS ON SEASON £6.50 CLOSING CASH AT BANK £207.11 APPENDAGE- 2006 dinner broke even with £50 surplus on raffle donated to Jimmy Bastow fund. i.e Ward 7 BRI. A thank you letter from the Hospital was circulated for all to read. 4) Existing fixtures to be kept excluding Sewerby. Hunslet Nelson to have choice of dates. No fixture to be arranged for August bank holiday. A possibility of a new fixture at Arthington & a possible return to Olicanians, skipper to advise Caggy. 5) Barrie's is to contact St Annes & Thornton Cleveleys with a view to returning in 2007. A proposal to add a 3rd fixture on the Tue' was met with universal approval. Caggy is visiting the area shortly & would visit South Shore (an old fixture) to see if they would host us. Interest in the tour is very high at this stage. 6) Scottie pointed out that the Jesters would soon qualify for the FTSI after taking a £40 'hit' with the Ball Burglar of Rawdon (no names allowed for legal reasons) purchasing a new ball tampering (repair) kit. Reminiscing of previous tours & the Alwoodley connection brought up the name of Graham Strange; It was stated that he now lives in Bermuda. Scottie pointed out that his orchestra once went there but the triangle player went missing!!!!!!!!!!!! 7) Dragons at Yeadon was selected for the 46th annual dinner; Scottie was going to try & book fri 13 April, (we're not superstitious & we know there will be no weddings that day) if not available, 2 weeks before. (Easter is on the 6th). 8) It was decide that this year again there are 2 worthy recipients; one from the present & one from the past:- It's hoped that both with turn up this time to the dinner to collect.
